EL SALVADOR
1867 - 1899

My interest on El Salvador started in late 1992 when I was able to acquire from another Filipino
collector  a comprehensive collection of proofs of the 1890 - 1899 Seebeck issues.
My primary interest in acquiring the proofs was not to start a new collection
but because I considered them as small pieces of art. Never did it enter my mind that
I would eventually devote much of my time and resources into El Salvador.
In 1993  while attending the Brazil World Philatelic Exhibition I was given a first hand
education on El Salvador by Brian Moorehouse.  I was immediately smitten  with
the country  even before Brian educated me on its philatelic aspects
Brazil is a country where beautiful women could literally envelope you.
But it was El Salvador that romanced me.
A lot of my friends  have been telling me that I now have the best collection of El Salvador.
Maybe yes and maybe no. Putting up the "best" collection in whatever field or
country that I am presently collecting or perhaps will be collecting in the future is
not my primary intention on why I am a philatelist.
My primary intention is to obtain the best pleasure from the hobby.
The adhesive issues is confined to the First Volcano Issue of 1867
and the "Contra Sello" Issue of 1874.
The collection on Postal Cards start with the 1879 Formula Cards up to the 1899 Ceres Issue.

I sincerely hope you will enjoy viewing the stamps and covers of El Salvador...
perhaps with the same intensity of pleasure that I obtained in collecting them.

If you have something to add or correct, please do not hesistate
to get in touch with me.
Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat (thank you very much).
